Controls...

kinda suck. I had to stop playing after what felt like my hundreth non-jump after pushing up. Sorry.

If you

Fix the aiming, I would play this everyday until the day I die. Seriously, though, the second you move it screws up all of the aiming, I played it sole by moving around the crosshair instead of maddeningly trying to aim. Still REALLY fun, though regardless.

Seriously...

What's with these Flash games and shitty, sticky controls?!!! I just played three games with AWESOME controls on here so I know it's possible. Why? WHY? It always kills games with such awesome potential.

Holmfry responds:

Could you be more specific on what the issue is so I can check it out? I don't have any control issues on any of my test systems, and about 99,000+ people didn't have any issues with it either ;)

Also, be sure to read the updates in the author comments, there are known issues with flash in chrome on a mac (interestingly chrome on pc is fine) that will affect some games, but is out of our hands as flash developers.. so far the only few control issues have been attributed to that, so if you're using a mac and google chrome, try it in another browser. It sounds like you've had these issues with at least a few games, so that's where I would start.

Hope that helps!

I'm being serious

I honestly want to know if I'm the only person here who dealt with the HORRIBLE controls in this game. CONSTANT button sticking of both the kind where a direction didn't work and a direction kept happening (i.e. constantly jumping without touching the up arrow.) I really want to know if this was just me, a game mechanic to give it that "Annoying" feel you were going for or whatever else. I can't only assume that this is ont of those games where random stuff kills you throughout to e funny, but I couldn't tell because I kept dying as the floor fell beneath me on the second hazard and I either couldn't stop going Left, Right, or jumping and died every time... except once when I got to the checkpoint, then got stuck constantly jumping, jumped OVER the checkpoint and died. Seriously I want to know if this was just me (and I checked, no sticky keys and EVERYTHING else works just fine including other games.) In fact, I won't even rate this game just in case it's just my computer... but I doubt it.

8-bit tastic!

...sorry.

This game was great. The difficulty was just high enough to create a fun challenge, but not so bad that I threw my laptop out the window like some games on this site. The controls were tight and the music was catchy and fun. It wasn't until maybe twenty minutes in that I even used the "Mute" feature. The unlockable character made the arguous coins worth collecting, but after finding out that the game continued with a little extra challange upon playing as Meatboy, it added and even bigger compliment to the feat. Very well done. I hope to see more of your work in the future.

Entertaining

While I'd feel a tad odd giving a perfect score to something that is just another "spot the differences" game, I must say that this one adds a fun little twist and humor to the overdone concept. The music is soothing yet not annoying, and the variation is constant and so while the goal is always the same, the game is not. Also, having the choice of "Scene" or "Ninja/Nun" mode gave the game an even longer lifespan. Good work.

Wow...

This game looked awesome. I was really looking forward to playing it. If only I could. The controls in this game are probably the WORST I have ever encountered on Newgrounds ever. I figured it was just my computer until I refreshed twice and then tried on another computer. Nope. Same problems. Not moving when I hit a certain direction, constantly jumping while my hands weren't even on the keyboard, rushing to the front of the screen and being stuck there. Awful, awful, awful. Great graphics and concept, but the controls make it unplayable and I don't know how none of the other reviews didn't mention this.

Seriously, WAS it intentional?

By my 100th death I was all set with this game. I'm seriously asking if you intentionally coded this to have such horrible controls. What made "I wanna be the Guy" so fun was not just the difficulty, but the tight controls that made you feel like you were failing, not the game. After tens of times not double jumping when I wanted to, being frozen in place until I slapped by keyboard, and literally taking my hands off the keyboard entirely only to have "The Kid" running in one direction into a spike over and over (That happend a LOT by the way,) I couldn't be bothered. This is clearly a game failure and while I want to applaud the effort because this could have been SUPER fun, the controls break this almost instantly and I refused to get frustrated and feel like I failed because of such terrible coding. Fix it, come back, and you have a potential ten on your hands. I'm serious. I'd totally play this... if I could.

Wow.

This was an amazing game. I'm going to play this forever. I swear, I'm going to keep coming back. One problem that I'm sure you're aware of, though. There's a pretty consistant lag with the music. For the most part, during music composition and playback, it's ignorable, but when actually playing the song in a gig, it basically ruins your note streak and screws you up unavoidably. However, this is my only complaint. This was well designed, beautifully programmed and conceptually impressive. Well done. Fix that one error and you will have one of the best games I've ever played on this site.

OH PLEASE!

Don't let all the hate discourage you. This is a well designed game. Apparently these people have never played "Bully." I'll agree, though, that the 15,000 pt for a free life is a bit too much to ask and there are very few lives, but with basically unlimited continues, there's nothing to really complain about. Good job.

I work my ass off for animation and video game design. SO much that I can't fit it here. But if you like gore, you'll like my stuff. I don't post often, but I'm always working on something. Usually not a falsh so I don't post here. But you'll see stuff sl
